Blake is a girl from the cold state of Vermont. John was raised in the hot sands of Dubai. They met in Boston and made a record of Blake's songs. They then travelled near and far to play John's songs, and then Blake's again. At last the two moved out west to seek adventure, but sadly parted on a bleak November day. They wrote songs, each in their own place, about their dismay and unhappiness without the other. Their songs said things they hadn't said in person, and when they heard them--together--it all made sense. In fact, life made more sense together. After a while, and having realized this, they became The Submarines.
if you've had the chance to catch the submarines live show within the past 6 months or so, then you've had the good fortune of seeing and hearing the wonderful jason stare playing drums with us. big smile. big fro. huge heart and a tasty beat. xo
Jason indeed was excellent. Just back home in Florence, Al from seeing you guys in Tuscaloosa, tonight, Sept. 4. Great show! Loved every song and the performance was excellent. Also a pleasure to say hello after the show. We've downloaded both albums. Bright music with deep meaning. Hard to find.
Sometimes on a dull day, or those long bus rides check out my stuff at iTunes, eMusic or Amazon./mp3 under the name Jake Berry or Liminal Blue.
Hope to see you guys perform again soon. And will be listening to your music from now on.

Gotta agree. Jason was excellent (as were you two) at the Boston show.
